Description

The frost of a Highland winter is nothing compared to the cold steel between two warring houses. When Elara of House Vane is sent to the ancestral estate of her sworn rival, she expects treachery, imprisonment, or perhaps an early grave. Instead, she finds herself trapped under the roof of the enigmatic Lady Isolde, a woman whose sharp wit is as dangerous as her hidden magical prowess. Bound by a fragile political truce that neither dares to break, the two women are forced into an uneasy proximity that ignites a forbidden spark. Amidst the whispered secrets of a crumbling Regency manor and the looming threat of a betrayal that could dismantle their legacy, Elara and Isolde must navigate a dance of desire and deception. This slow-burn fantasy romance weaves together the opulence of the aristocracy with the grit of high-stakes suspense. If you crave intense chemistry, complex family dynamics, and a love story that defies the boundaries of duty, this is your next obsession. Fans of the wider series will delight in unexpected cameos and deep world-building, while newcomers will be swept away by this standalone tale of enemies turned lovers. Prepare for a story where the greatest battle is the one fought for the heart.

Another amazing novel

Another amazing book by Hiyodori. I don't love the Clem and Wist series, so I wasn't sure how much I would like a book set more directly in their society but I loved it. Great drama, great characters, so many great lines and moments. I'm glad I didn't read it before work or I wouldn't have gotten anything done.

You cannot go wrong with a Hiyodori novel

Seriously, as soon as a new novel drops from Hiyodori, I will stop whatever I'm currently reading. This is just another great read. I love the cameos from previous books. Honestly, if you like Hiyodori, you'll like this book, there really isn't anything negative I can say.
