Description

For decades, Elena and Sarah shared a life defined by unspoken glances and the quiet intimacy of best friends. They navigated the complexities of their twenties in tandem, anchored by a deep, platonic devotion that felt like a permanent fixture. When life pulled them in opposite directions, the silence that followed was heavy, leaving a void neither could quite name. Years later, a sudden reunion forces them to confront the ghosts of their past and the reality of their present. This is a story about the grace of second chances and the realization that the love we seek is often the one standing right in front of us. Moving beyond the frantic energy of youth, this novel explores the beauty of mature characters finding their way back to one another. It captures the ache of lost time and the profound relief of being truly known by someone who remembers exactly who you were. With lyrical prose and emotional depth, it examines the delicate transition from friendship to something much more permanent. If you appreciate stories about the resilience of the human heart and the quiet power of returning home to the person who holds your history, you will find a kindred spirit in these pages.

Deeply moving

Sometimes you get to read a book that is special. I just connected with the story. There are always times when we lose contact with friends. And this story deals with how that separation can effect our outlook on life and how we deal with that. Cat and Erin were best friends in high school. Cat moved away and contact was lost. Abigail deals with how that shaped their life going forward. Cat gave up control and Erin lost trust in people. I felt deeply both of their experiences. Abigail's writing is just so realistic and just pulled me into their lives. I felt like they were friends and I was invested in their wellbeing. That is talent. I really hated for the book to end. I did love the humorous fun parts. Also the spicy parts are hot like only Abigail can do. I am sure you will enjoy Before We Knew as much as I do.
