Description

Colton was the golden boy of their high school, a popular jock with a secret he couldnt afford to reveal. Isaac was the quiet observer, the one who bore the brunt of a connection that felt like a lifeline to some and a cage to others. Years later, the power dynamic that defined their youth has shifted, but the obsession remains as jagged and intense as ever. When their paths collide again, the past is no longer a buried memory but a volatile force waiting to ignite. This is a story about the fluidity of desire, the weight of hidden identities, and the terrifying thrill of being truly seen by the one person who knows exactly how to unravel you. Colton is haunted by the boy he used and the man he has become, while Isaac stands on the edge of a reckoning that could either heal them or destroy them entirely. With sharp prose and a raw, unflinching look at the complexities of bisexual longing, this novel explores the fine line between devotion and destruction. It is a haunting, immersive experience that lingers long after the final page, proving that sometimes the only way to find yourself is to let someone else break you apart.

🖤⚾️Besides ruining me, what do you want? I want to see you broken. That's all I ever wanted⚾️🖤

"I know everything. I'm a god, a demon, a psycho stalker. You decide." "But he felt weird being so free in his style, unlike Isaac, who dressed like a slutty grim reaper most days." "But also make them a little jealous because who doesn't want a scary little goth guy they can fit in their pocket." "You're the happiest I've ever been. You're making me better, brighter, bolder. I want more out of this." "But for over four months, you've quickly become my every waking thought. I can't react without your guidance, feel without your touch, breathe without you near me. It hurts to have this much of you and feel like I don't have anything at all." I have been waiting for this book to come out as I love me a good bully book. I don't like to read 3rd POV, but this book was done very well. The flow was great and easy to follow. This had some amazing troupes like grumpy goth/himbo jock, bully, hurt/comfort, enemies to lovers, and dom/sub. I loved all the characters in this book! This found family was everything and so supportive and sassy. The banter between them all was hilarious. And can we talk about the gorgeous cover for this book?!?! It's definitely one of my favorite covers period. This book follows Isaac and Colton. Isaac was the weird goth kid who had a crush on Colton the jock in high school. Colton was a huge bully to Isaac, but they also had secret hook ups. Colton ended up doing something horrible and their relationship ended. They're both in college now and Isaac…

Good book, bad printing

Fun story, decently spicy. The 1st page of every chapter is white print on a background that includes very light areas. It makes that first page tough to read. May be better as an ebook.

Not what I had in mind

While I did not hate Colton and Isaac's relationship as a whole. There were moments that were cute enough. But I certainly did not like it. Isaac was way too forgiving (whether he says he never forgave him or not I don't care--he ends up with him so that in it of it's is forgiveness) about what Colton did to him just 3 yrs prior (3 YEARS ISN'T 10 YEARS...3 YEARS IS NOTHING). The vile break down of their relationship was sad and borderline abusive. Colton was a DL man who had abusive tendencies. Quick to hit or use someone for his gain but never actually doing the work. Everything that happened to him wasn't because he did it himself, but because someone else did to him. His outing at Uni and then his outing of his relationship with Isaac (plus him being a bottom which... that's so benign). I don't care that he willingly gives his body for Isaac to use sexually for "power" (which is twisted anyway) The book kept saying Colton actually liked Isaac in high school but their very first sexual encounter is heinous. He straight up corners the boy in the woods and uses his mouth (very roughly) to get off. That's it... that's all their relationship was until the horrible incident that forced Isaac to run off to college (cutting himself off from his family and abusers). Nothing about this makes sense to me. I know the book states it's a "dark romance" but I expected the dark to be Colton actually grovelling and getting a taste of humility and butt kicking with some kinky things…
