Description

It started with a stolen moment beneath the bleachers in eighth grade, a secret promise whispered in the dark that neither Huck nor Taylor ever truly outgrew. Decades later, their lives are a complicated tapestry of shared history, unspoken desires, and the heavy weight of expectations. Set against a rich, atmospheric historical backdrop, their connection is anything but simple. This is a visceral exploration of a love that defies labels and survives the wreckage of time. Huck and Taylor navigate a landscape of intense psychological longing and raw, unfiltered passion. As they grapple with their evolving identities and the societal pressures of their era, they find themselves pulled back together again and again. Their story is messy, profoundly human, and achingly real. It captures the frantic, breathless nature of a bond that refuses to break, even when the world demands they pull apart. If you crave stories that grab you by the heart and refuse to let go, this journey through the complexities of bisexual identity and enduring devotion will leave you breathless. It is a ride through the highs of teenage discovery and the deep, haunting resonance of adulthood, proving that some loves are written into the very fabric of our souls.

OBSESSED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

“It’s me and you baby. Has been since the moment we kissed beneath the bleachers in eighth grade, and will be for the rest of our lives.” Bree Wiley KNOCKED this out of the park. I was obsessed. The book was long, which gave the perfect amount of time to really see the character and plot development. I cried, I laughed, I felt every single feeling these boys felt. When an author has the ability to pull you in and make you love every aspect of their writing and stories it’s a beautiful thing. Oh sweet Huckslee and Taylor. You complicated, pain in the ass, perfect, sweet boys. There was so much depth, and growth between the two of them. Huck is closeted and has a religious father. Taylor is in denial and his mother is marrying Huck’s father. After a kiss in eighth grade and a father who refuses to have his son be friends with someone who may be gay ruins a great friendship the two are constantly at odds. After their parents marry and they are forced to move in together Huck comes up with a neutral ground, Delaware. (A practice track in their backyard) The relationship grows and a bad fight and accident turns into four years of no contact. In that time Huck goes off to play football and Taylor becomes a well known rider. Huck returns when his father is extremely sick. The two of them are forced to confront their past as well as the time since the fight. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, well written and such an amazing story. You best bet Bree Wiley will now be an auto read…

Great enemies to lovers story!

I love me a great enemies-to-lovers romance, and Finding Delaware definitely delivered—plus, there’s the stepbrother angle, which just made it even more intense! Taylor and Huckslee had so much toxic behavior in the beginning that I wasn’t sure they could get past it. Honestly, I was surprised they did. I really enjoyed the character development, especially with Taylor. Huckslee’s path after his trauma was a bit frustrating to me—he had so much anger, and his drinking didn’t sit well with me, though I understood why he went down that road. The miscommunication was the biggest drag for me; it felt like it just kept going and going, causing problem after problem. Even though the ending felt a little open-ended and didn’t have the closure I was hoping for, I still enjoyed this story. It had the tension, the angst, and the chemistry that I love in an enemies-to-lovers trope. I listened to the audiobook, and while one narrator was just okay, the other did a great job and kept me engaged throughout. I’d definitely recommend this one for fans of a messy, intense romance!
