Description

Sam and Leo were once inseparable, two parts of a whole until the pressures of a rising rockstar career and shifting priorities pulled them in opposite directions. Years later, the memory of what they shared remains a bittersweet ache. When their paths unexpectedly cross again in the corporate halls of a San Diego magazine publisher, the past doesn't just knock; it kicks the door down. Now colleagues tasked with navigating a high-stakes merger, they are forced to confront the unresolved tension that never truly faded. What begins as professional friction quickly reignites the spark of a deep, long-standing connection. For Sam, who has spent years building a stable life, Leo represents the chaotic, electric pull of a life he once walked away from. For Leo, Sam is the one person who truly knows him beneath the fame and the public persona. This second-chance romance is the perfect palate cleanser for readers who love a blend of spicy passion and genuine emotional growth. It is a sweet, heartfelt exploration of identity, the bravery required to love someone again, and the realization that sometimes the best way forward is to finally stop holding the door shut on your own heart.

Super sweet slow burn after reuniting 16 years after college

suddenly working for the same company in San Diego. Sam is one of the finance managers at a magazine publisher which has just bought and merged another company. Sam likes his routines as he deals with anxiety issues so when he finds out that the director of photography for one of the new magazines is his ex-friend Max, his anxiety spikes. Each person thinks he is one at fault for the split and there's a delicious dance as one avoids 'fessing up and the other is eager to make amends and start over. It's a super slow burn as they maneuver into a friendship and then into a relationship. Sam and Max are good fun and the secondary characters are well-done. I want to read more about them! which isn't always true of some books and usually cause me to not like a book as much. Door Number Two is already out and features one of Max's underlings, Corbin. Revolving Door focuses on Sam's 'work husband' and man whore Archer and the mysterious Fletcher, owner of Eddie's, a surf shop. Can't wait! Great debut by Vinni George!

Sam & Max

Very sweet second chance. A little back and forth for these two as far as feelings in the past but when they moved on, they were finally in the same page. Communication was key here and thank their friends, who seem very invested, gave good advice. A merger, surfing and their still existing feelings brought these two back together to get it right this time.

I needed sexy and sweet. This delivered.

The last book I read was dark, and I always like to throw a little spicy and sweet book to cleanse my palate after. I loved everything about this book. I love Sam’s OCD at work and relaxation at the beach. I love Max’s journey to find himself and acknowledgement of his mistakes. I love the fire they rekindle. Read this book!
