Description

When Harper moves to the quiet shores of Blackwood Lake, she expects nothing more than a peaceful summer of solitude to mend her weary heart. She certainly does not anticipate running into Elias, the local veterinarian whose sharp wit and gentle spirit are as captivating as the mountain air. What begins as chance encounters at the water’s edge quickly blossoms into a tentative, soul-stirring connection that forces both women to confront the walls they have spent years building. Their journey is a gentle exploration of vulnerability and the courage it takes to let someone in. While the path to happiness is rarely a straight line—featuring the classic third-act heartbreak that tests their resolve—the emotional payoff is deeply satisfying. This story celebrates the quiet magic of finding a home in another person, anchored by a romance that feels both grounded and deeply romantic. Perfect for readers who crave a heartwarming narrative where love always finds its way back, this novel is a cozy, life-affirming tribute to second chances. If you are looking for a story that leaves you smiling long after the final page, this tender sapphic romance offers the warmth and emotional sincerity you have been searching for.

Nothing extraordinary

This was a pleasant little read. The angst only lasts a few pages which include the inevitable third act breakup. The dogs were actually annoying so they played their parts well. The spicy scenes were very vanilla. There were several typos and mixed up characters. I did love the cover which convinced me to read the book. I'm not a fan of faceless MCs and AI generated characters. 3.5 stars
