Anyway, I’m so glad I did because I am head over heels in love with Sid, Ty, and this incredible, talented debut author. Grey has a talent for immersing the reader in poignant human emotion, weaving intricate and believable personalities, and compassionately portraying trauma and recovery. This story is told entirely from Ty’s perspective. He’s a flawed, damaged character whose story starts with an incredibly powerful first chapter. As all broken characters are, he’s an unreliable narrator at times. He’s young, driven, immature, passionate, and desperate in turn. In many ways, Sid is his polar opposite. But the similarities they share catch fire and bring so much life to the page. Sid and Ty are surrounded by interesting and fully-developed side characters who help drive the angsty and character-driven plot. While, yes, there’s plenty of pro ball and lots of court time, the relationship and the emotional growth and evolution of our leads is by far the primary focus in Loving the Legend. The tale is an exquisite blend of sweet and steamy moments that will make your heart flutter and your toes curl.
