Description

The pressure of the rink is nothing compared to the intensity of the heart. In the third installment of the Phoenix Ridge series, the cold glass of the hockey arena gives way to the scorching heat of a forbidden connection. This is a story where the adrenaline of professional sports meets the fragile, high-stakes world of medical care, proving that the most difficult plays happen off the ice. Emily Hayes crafts a deeply emotional narrative that transcends the typical sports romance. While the game provides the backdrop, the true focus lies in the raw, authentic vulnerability of two women finding their way toward each other amidst personal and professional turmoil. Whether you are a lifelong hockey fan or someone who has never watched a period in your life, the profound character development and lyrical prose will capture your attention from the first page. It is a slow-burn journey marked by quiet moments of intimacy, sharp dialogue, and the ache of longing. This novel is a testament to the power of healing, the complexity of desire, and the courage it takes to risk everything for love. Prepare to be moved by a story that lingers in your mind long after the final goal is scored.

Phoenix Ridge Hockey Rocks!

Less hockey and more romance but still loved it. I'm looking forward to book 4. Does psychiatrist Helen have a partner yet? If not, i hope she's next to fall in love with one of the hockey players.

OMG I cried like a baby reading this!

Emily Hayes, such a gifted wordsmith who writes with so much emotion, this one really got to me. I used to go to Whalers hockey games in CT in the late 70’s (yes I am that old), I wasn’t much of a fan but my wife’s dad was and gave us tickets when he couldn’t go. These stories, have changed my views on the game, of course this is a women’s league, so that dynamic fits my interests better! The storyline is beautifully written with deep characters each with flaws that are treated with profound sensitivity. The heated intimate scenes a very well done. I loved this series and this one was just to my liking!
