Description

On the high-stakes asphalt of the Formula 1 circuit, speed is everything, but for Kian and his fiercest rival, the tension off the track is far more dangerous. Kian is a seasoned veteran who has spent his career perfecting his craft, only to find his path blocked by a younger, reckless prodigy who thrives on pushing buttons as much as he pushes the limits of his car. What begins as a bitter professional grudge quickly spirals into a volatile game of cat and mouse. Every press conference is a battlefield and every shared moment in the paddock crackles with unspoken electricity. They are trapped in a cycle of sharp-tongued banter and simmering resentment, unable to stay away from the very person they are supposed to despise. As the championship race intensifies, the line between hatred and desire blurs until they are forced to confront a reality that could jeopardize both their careers and their hearts. This is a gripping enemies to lovers romance that captures the adrenaline of professional racing while delivering the deep, emotional intimacy readers crave. Whether you are a devoted racing fan or simply love a high-stakes queer romance, this story promises a ride that is as heart-pounding as a final lap sprint to the finish line.

This was good…

While I did very much enjoy this story, I didn’t love the banter…I know it’s an enemies to lovers story but I wanted more sexual tension banter and less “I’m really wanting to be mean to hurt you” so it kind of disconnected me and at times I didn’t really believe in their relationship. I did however love the found family vibes and the character growth of Harper (even if his actions towards the end bothered me a bit) Overall an enjoyable book 4.75⭐️

Would Read Again

This is the first time I've read this author or listened to either narrator and I am extremely impressed. Both narrators did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life and expressing their emotions. I was nearly in tears by the end of the book and for once from happiness. Usually I only cry when something tragic happens in a well written story. This book combines some of my favorite tropes in a magical way that had me immersive reading it nearly straight through. - Enemies to Friends to Lovers - Teammates & Sports - Age Gap - Falling for Your Hero - Grumpy/Sunshine - Wild/Responsible - Hurt/Comfort - Banter & Pranks - Tension & Chemistry - HEA w/no Cliffhanger - No External Drama The story starts with veteran racer Kian receiving the news that his best friend & teammate will be out for the whole season. Harper is excited to finally get his chance in the big leagues & is overly excited to be doing so with his ideal. Unfortunately, Harpers nervous enthusiasm comes across as arrogance and puts Kian off right from the start. I saw someone compare the two to Jamie & Roy from Ted Lasso and it is the best way to describe their dynamic. Kian is constantly trying to get Harper to be more responsible, usually by pointing out his faults. Harper is constantly calling Kian boring and old and trying to get him to go out and have some fun. It makes for great chemistry that has you wondering why no one else can see them falling for each other. I would recommend this…

pretty good

Low spice: 🌶️ I did enjoy the story although I got aggravated with them both at times. I really enjoyed the ending and the personal growth.
