I dove into this book totally blind. The blurb doesn’t do it justice. While MM romance isn’t a genre I normally read, this one was well written, poignant and visceral. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Stone especially. He’s like Dexter with skates and a hockey stick. Callum was a great character too, damaged, broken, scarred. The dynamic between Stone and Callum is what makes this book so good! The chemistry between the two ignites with every page. There are many plot twists throughout the book. The chapters before the championship game were totally mind blowing. The bonus epilogue about Callum’s and Stone’s ‘murdery date’ is one you’ll want to read. The audiobook is phenomenal! Both narrators are excellent in their portrayals of Stone and Callum. I highly recommend it!

I’m not entirely sure what I expected with this book, I read the blurb real quick then kinda just dove in, but I’m very much pleasantly surprised!! I was pretty on the fence about picking it up because of the age range, idk I just don’t really vibe with depraved/morally gray characters in the high school and college age range and setting, BUT I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I’m so glad I stuck it out. This not only satisfied my craving for a darker read but it also included another favorite trope of hockey romance! I always appreciate a sports romance novel where the sport is more than a passing thought and an active part of the story. We get the hurt/comfort vibes with a healthy dash of murder tendencies and a good dose of hockey. We need more murdery puck boys! 🏒 Stone is a fantastic psycho. It’s so hard to find that good balance of crazy without making the character OTT, dramatic, and frankly unlikable. Stone is one of the best characters in a dark romance that I’ve read so far. He’s possessive and obsessive but also has feelings and shows those emotions! His protectiveness of Callum knows no bounds, even against himself. Stone is literally the perfect depiction of touch him and ☠️ vibes and willing to do whatever he needs to in order to make Callum safe and happy. Ugh, he’s toxic but also perfect ☺️ Callum has his own version of dark urges that are perfectly complemented by Stone’s. Callum went through so much, but he is far from weak and fought tooth and nail…

I really really enjoyed this book.. however it was hard for me to really relate to the MC‘s. They’re supposed to be in College, but yet they have access to all this stuff to do what they need to do. It’s a little far-fetched and a little unrealistic for me to actually attach myself to the characters. However, the book was excellent. Highly recommended
