enjoyable read

Cute, fairly fast paced (it is a novella) and light, I rather enjoyed this story. Which is a good thing, given that I picked up a copy from the local independent romance bookstore. It is, as its cover implies, a monster romance, but it isn't overly heavy on the spice, with only 1 major scene in the book - which I am more than happy about. The beginning of the book sets up the setting, introducing some of the characters that will feature in future books (Erin from book 2 is the only one who gets named, though), and then it dives into Morgan's romance proper, and I was pleasant surprised with how it played out. Yes, it is insta love and fated mates, but for the length of the story, I felt that it was done well. Lots of pining, wanting to protect the other, and getting to the point where they can understand each other, and a little bit of action sprinkled in between. Also, that epilogue was adorable!

A short and good read

This was very instant-love, but I enjoyed it a lot. Morgan (one of our MFCs) goes through a horrible situation that puts her right into Scylla’s tentacles. Scylla (our other FMC) has been alone for far too long, finds a human woman suddenly in her cave, turns out this human is her mate! I loved both of these characters, Morgan being a kind human being and Scylla doing everything to be the perfect mate. Scylla really had me kicking my feet while reading this. I also love the bit of Greek Mythology given in this story, I’ve been on a little “Epic Troy Saga” kick and this made me so happy to read. Anyway, this was a short and fun read and I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Fated mates meets Greek myth

A fun Greek myth inspired monster-romance with fated mates! I love the opening to this book and the serious tone at the start with the element of danger and a fight for survival. The middle drug a little bit for me because there were a series of very short chapters alternating between our FMC's. But it picked right back up. This story did introduced the world and this island of mythological creatures well, and I cannot wait to read what comes next.
