What a paradox

The combination of Hallie and Brynn was written perfectly. It was definitely a SLOW BURN, but so worth it. The chemistry just kept getting stronger and stronger. You knew it had to bust eventually, and when it did - WOW. The appearance of Sydney and Reese helped the story stay on track. Their friendship with Hallie and Brynne was priceless and came in at the right time. Great read.

Checks All the Emotional Development Boxes

I really loved this book, however, "slow burn" doesn't do this justice. The wait for these two to solidify their feelings was AGONIZING, however, I am a simp for domesticity in WLW novels, so this checked every box for me in that regard. This book was packed with emotional character development and gracefully navigated the messiness of blood family with the beauty of chosen family. This book is so mature in so many aspects and hits so many beautiful plot points of finding yourself, learning to find happiness while balancing grief, understanding your place in the world, and choosing to put yourself first. Overall, I loved this book and would have rated it a 4.5* if GR would have let me, but alas. I also loved the Reese and Sydney cameos!

Perfect

Hallie and Brynn are perfect for each other. This is such a sweet romance. Love the main characters. Love the secondary characters. Really enjoyed reading characters who aren’t perfect, but are just so right together. Highly recommended!
