Description

Maplewood is a town where everyone knows your business, but for disgraced rockstar Julian Vane, obscurity is the only goal. Seeking refuge from the relentless glare of the spotlight, he retreats to the quiet, syrup-scented charm of this small town, hoping to trade sold-out arenas for a life of anonymity. He never expected to cross paths with Arthur, the local historian whose devotion to Regency-era sensibilities is as rigid as his perfectly pressed waistcoats. The friction between a jaded, modern-day icon and a man living with one foot in the nineteenth century creates a collision of worlds that is as hilarious as it is heartfelt. As they navigate an unexpected age gap that highlights their different perspectives on fame, legacy, and love, the two men find that their genuine connection is the one thing neither can escape. Filled with quirky neighbors and laugh-out-loud moments, this story offers a warm, cozy escape into a community you will never want to leave. It is a delightful exploration of how two people from opposite ends of the spectrum can find common ground in the most unlikely of places. Come for the small-town charm, stay for the undeniable spark between two men who finally find exactly what they were missing.

Funny and Sweet

This story was an excellent rollercoaster with laughter and quirky characters throughout! I want to live in Maplewood with all the characters from this series, but Drake and Finn would have to be my friends! They made me tear up and laugh in equal measure. I need to read more about Drake’s family, and I hope Dirk gets his own book set in Maplewood eventually!

Drake no longer feels like he wants to perform publicly but is happy to write songs Drake’s long time music mentor and friend has asked him to go to Maplewood to help his friend, Zeke, run this year’s music festival. Since he doesn’t have anything else going on at the moment, he’s happy for the change of scenery. What first starts out as a not so great first impression, Drake and Finn can’t avoid running in to each other. Despite the age difference, both can’t deny the chemistry between them. So maybe they can enjoy a friends with benefits arrangement while Drake is in town. But, the more they get to know each other, the more those feelings begin to grow. Drake starts to wonder if maybe there might be a reason to stay a little longer in Maplewood. Or maybe even permanently? Both of these guys are such good men. Despite his young age, Drake has an old soul.…
