I went into this without knowing much about the story or the plot, but it’s written by Lark Taylor and Cora Rose so I knew I’d enjoy it. I was not prepared for just how amazing this book was. The writing, the plot, the characters, the POV switches, all of it was so freaking good and I just loved everything about it. "Matthias’s gaze meets mine and then he leans up and kisses my cheek, the sensation of that one gesture pushing into my chest and piercing my heart." The Firm runs the city of St. Dismas. Nobody knows who they are, but whatever you need done, they handle it. Every request comes with a price though and Wyatt has never been desperate enough to pay it. But after a year where everything that could go wrong went wrong, he's at rock bottom and is willing to bear the cost if it means his brother could have a better life. He doesn’t expect to end up in an arranged marriage with the best friend who ghosted him after ruining his life. But the more time he spends with Matthias, the more secrets he starts to uncover and everything he learns makes him reevaluate the past and every moment that’s led him here. This book had me stressed 😂 there was some heavy angst and pining and it got the heart pounding! I enjoyed Matt and Wy's story, though it went in a very different direction than I was expecting. There was some mystery and low-level intrigue that was woven throughout the whole book, but what held my attention was Matt and Wy's relationship and chemistry. I called a lot of what was coming, but that didn't dampen the enjoyment. I will say that I feel like the secrets and lies were dragged out for way too long, and then they were a bit too predictable. I thought there was going to be some kind of action in the book and I feel like that would have been an interesting element to add. Despite this, I did enjoy the book with all of the snark, sass, pining, and love. 7.5/10 do recommend! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! Ahhhhhh, so so so in love with Wyatt and Matt!!!! Such an incredibly beautiful story with the makings of everything needed for the most delicious and spicy read that I couldn't consume fast enough! Secret Society, Friends to Enemies to Lovers, Fake Marriage, Forced Proximity, Bi-Awakening Pining, Possessive MC, Slow Burn to High HEA and a One Bed trope made this the perfect read! Wyatt and Matt had such an amazing story of finding their way to each other. Supporting characters were absolute perfection and I was ready to jump into the next book as soon as this one finished!!!! Cora Rose and alarm Taylor came together to MM create magic !!!!
