Description

Philippa is a woman who has spent her life coloring inside the lines, keeping her nose to the grindstone and her heart firmly under lock and key. That is, until a chance encounter at a networking event turns her world upside down. When she steps in to rescue the charming, disarming Alex from an aggressive suitor, the spark is instantaneous. There is only one problem: Philippa is just beginning to explore her true self, and the last thing she needs is a complication. To navigate a high-stakes social season, the two strike a deal that seems simple enough on paper. They will pretend to be a couple to keep unwanted attention at bay. But as they trade witty banter for shared secrets and late-night intimacy, the lines between performance and reality begin to blur. For two women finding their footing later in life, the masquerade becomes the most honest thing they have ever done. This story is a heartfelt exploration of second chances, proving that it is never too late to rewrite your narrative. With its sharp humor, tender emotional depth, and an undeniable chemistry that jumps off the page, this is a romance that lingers long after the final chapter.

newly gay..

Newly gay Philippa rescues Alex at a networking event where she saves Alex from an overeager drunk male. Phil is taken right away but Alex says she doesn’t do relationships. Turns out with some prodding Alex is divorced and her ex wife is preventing her seeing her daughter. Fortunately Philippa happens to be a family attorney. The book is enjoyable and certainly gives good insight to when divorce with children isn’t amicable.

Really Good Older Coming Out Story

Both main characters are well developed and very likable. Their relationship begins as a pretend relationship but develops into something much more serious. I highly recommend.
