Description

Stacey and Dash have spent years as each other’s rock, navigating the highs and lows of life with an unbreakable bond forged in shared history and mutual healing. As star players on the ice, they are a formidable team, but off the rink, they are trapped in a precarious dance of proximity and silence. For Dash, Stacey is the only person he has ever wanted in a bone-deep way, yet the fear of shattering the foundation of their friendship keeps his true feelings locked behind a wall of caution. When the lines between support system and soulmate begin to blur, the stakes of their lifelong friendship suddenly feel impossible to manage. This slow-burn romance captures the electric tension of two people realizing that the one person they trust most is also the one they can no longer live without. Dealing with the ghosts of their pasts while fighting for a future together, they must decide if risking their history is worth the gamble of a lifetime. This story is a heartfelt exploration of vulnerability, the comfort of chosen family, and the exhilarating chaos of finally admitting that the person you were meant to be with has been standing right beside you all along.

"Maybe because I've been forced into accepting that the one person I want---the only person I've ever wanted in a bone-deep way---told me we're never going to be a thing." "There's a bone-bruising ache in my chest. It gets worse when you touch me. I don't know how much more of it I can take. Slowly driven to the brink because you're right there, but I can't have you." "I live for you. I'd die for you. My heart won't ever belong to anyone but you." "What about me? Do I ever get to enter?" "Ever get to enter? Stace, you never get to leave." "Never?" "Never. I mean, it would be an a****** thing to do. You're the architect. You built it for me, brick by brick." "But Stacey heals me. Over and over again. When I wilt from time to time, all I have to do is sit near him and it's as if his very energy wraps around my insides, eating up all the bad threatening to take me down." "I feel the same way, but for me, you're the murmur of my world, the space between every heart beat." "What did I do? I made sure that I'd spend the rest of my life in hell is what I've done. But for Dash, I'll live in the fire." This was a fantastic book. Each book in this series keeps getting better and better. This is a best friends to lovers troupe with all the pining and angst. So much of it! This is also a slow burn build-up. This story was very emotional but sweet. I loved how the author went about the trauma and mental health aspects in this story. Of course the spice was great once it…

.

Normally it takes me a hot minute to get into a friends to lovers book, especially if its a slow burn, but in this case I was hooked from the first chapter! I absolutely adore Stacey and Dash! These two are so freaking adorable, I just couldn't get enough of them! Once again S. Legend has written another amazing hockey book. Stacey & Dash's book is my second favorite of this series (Jack & Mercy forever have my heart.) I cannot wait to see what come next with this series!

Just…….too…….sloooow!

After the absolutely delightful collision that was book 3, this one just fell flat for me. Had some trouble merging the previous Stacey with the one described here, found the flashback/forward format jarring and hard to follow sometimes, and rehashing the MCs’ relationship through the entire previous timeline just seemed to push and pull and not go anywhere foreeevvvveeerrrr! For me apparently there is such a thing as too much pining. Having said that, I enjoyed the family banter and cameos and the teasers about book 5 throughout. Glad we all made it through this one and looking forward to the next.
