Description

In the quiet corners of a life rebuilt, Helen and Andrea discover that the most profound healing happens in the space between two hearts. As a survivor of cancer, Andrea carries the weight of her past in the subtle tremors of her hands and the resilience in her spirit. She has learned to navigate the world with guarded caution, until she crosses paths with Helen, a woman whose own history is etched with silent, lingering scars. Set against a lush historical backdrop, this slow-burn romance explores the delicate art of letting someone in when the world has taught you to stay closed. Their connection is not a whirlwind, but a steady, grounding flame that flickers into something transformative. As they navigate the emotional challenges of their respective journeys, they find that true strength lies in vulnerability and shared understanding. This touching story offers a realistic portrayal of redemption and the courage required to love again after loss. It is a testament to the idea that no matter how deep the wounds, there is always room for a second chance. If you appreciate heartfelt character studies and gentle, soul-stirring growth, this emotional narrative will leave you comforted and hopeful.

Food and Love are interesting....a bit of spice and lots of steam

Heart of Spice is the second book in the Heart series by V. Dalmatina. I was as impressed with this one as I was with Heart of Salt. The wonderful characters are just outstanding in personality and history. It was engaging in the way the main characters navigated the challenging histories each brought into the relationship they were circling. This read is steamier than the first book and I will attribute that to the characters’ personalities. I also like steam and connection on all kinds of levels. I was surprised at how ink was used in this book and that is all on that front….it was however educational to learn about different kinds and uses of it. I say that because I hope even when reading great fiction like this, I learn something new about the world and this series thus far has done that without exception. The emotional intensity of this book was so encompassing that I had difficulty putting my e-reader down to do anything until I had read the whole book. The length of this book lends itself to any reader. I am excited to move on to Heart of Love. At this point my suggestion would be to pick up this amazing Sapphic series and enjoy…. but start with Heart of Salt it will make this second book flow without confusion. I am once again grateful for the opportunity to share my review after reading an ARC provided by the author.

Gentle Slow-Burn Romance

Helen and Andrea are both women with scars from their past. Andrea, as a cancer survivor, is beautifully portrayed with ups and downs, strength and vulnerability, similar to Helen, but with her own flaws. This romance reminds me of Major Ashley and Kate's story, and I love it.

Sweet romance

I enjoyed this slow burn romance; the emotional challenges they work through bring hope. I thought it was a very touching story and showed realistic progress of the healing of their emotional and physical scars. I recommend this book to people hoping for a happy ending.
