Description

Sutton and Wren are the kind of characters who stay with you long after the final page is turned. Set against a lush Regency backdrop, this story balances sharp, witty banter with profound emotional stakes. Their relationship is a masterclass in tension, built on the slow-burn realization that the person who frustrates you most might actually be the only one who truly understands you. What makes this novel stand out is the exquisite balance of humor and vulnerability. While the romantic comedy elements keep the tone light and endlessly entertaining, the narrative never shies away from the deeper, more complex layers of the human heart. These men are beautifully flawed, struggling with their own insecurities and societal expectations, which makes their eventual connection feel deeply earned and incredibly satisfying. Whether you are looking for a story that gives you all the feels or a romance that offers genuine insight into love and companionship, this book delivers on every front. It is a stunning, sexy, and insightful journey through the complications of desire and the courage it takes to be truly seen. For fans of character-driven fiction, this is a must-read that captures the messy, wonderful reality of finding your person.

Fabulous!

What an absolutely beautiful story! Everytime I pick up a book by this author I'm reminded of just how good she writes and I'm immediately pulled into her stories. Wren and Sutton absolutely stole my heart. Their connection was so strong, the dialogue and interactions between them was spot on, and the romance gave me all the butterflies. There was so much depth to this book as both Wren and Sutton struggle with difficult and life altering things from their past. But it never felt too heavy. It just made me feel so much for both of them and melt just a little at how they supported and showed their love for each other. This was such an enjoyable book to read, filled with smart dialogue, a cast of likeable characters, and a beautiful romance that brought all the feels. Highly recommended!

Unexpected plot “twist” in this 3rd in series ..

This is the third book in this series of overlapping standalones. The first two were two of my favorite reads of 2024. This one didn’t fully meet my expectations. I adore Briar Prescott’s writing. Maybe You brings together two likable main characters, adds in witty banter, and combines some traumatic back story to create a love story where you are really rooting the happy ending. Where this installment fell short for me was the plot. It was just lacking. It was too reminiscent of Until You. You knew Sutton had a secret which was why he didn’t want Wren to fall for him, but when the secret came into the light it fell flat for me. There was a lot more spice in the first half of this book that isn’t in Until You and And Then You. Loved that we got check in with Quinn and Steph.

Fantastic read!!!

If you have sent any of my reviews ( and why do I keep doing them??) you would see I like the phrase" the feels". OMG!! I got the feels through most of this book!! Man can Briar write a good story!! I think most people will really enjoy this one. Wren and Sutton are lovable from the start. When you get to know them.. Well you're heart starts to hurt a bit because... Well falling in love is never really intended...and ya it's just all chemical... But it's never on a time line.. And when the one rule is don't fall in love... That just sucks!! But much in the brain chemicals...excitement, joy, anticipation...and sometimes fear. And I get it, you don't want to be like your parents.. Then you fund yourself... Maybe being just like them.. In your mind... And that's s just scary A.#. This book reminds us that life isn't easy.. We all come from different backgrounds, family lives... It reminds us they love can hurt so bad( yes..I cried...sue me 😘). But it also reminds us that our past doesn't necessarily defines us.. What we do with that knowledge( read the book), how we react to it, defines us. Personally, I'm still learning... If you have to which main character you are . I'm the very poor version of Sutton without being beautiful. I know his fear... I've lived it. It's nice to see even if only fiction that you can move on... In real life. Maybe You isn't for everyone... It's a bit heavy.. But so worth it.
