I am a huge fan

I loved the first book, and the second continues the excellent story. I can’t wait for the third in the series. I am a big fan of sapphic polyamorous relationships full of spice, combined with intriguing plots, and this fits the bill wonderfully.

Tension, spice, and murder is nice!

The second book of the House of Bellante series continues the tension and spice of the first book and cranks the action to a 10. They've eluded Lorenzo and his Scorpions and sought refuge in the mountains, but they all know it's only a matter of time. The tensions, sexual, tactical, and otherwise are present and playing off of each other in very intriguing ways throughout this book, which I loved to see. It was wonderful seeing how each of the individual and collective relationships changed and reacted to the changes in the others. It was also great to see such an uptick in the action and to see that Stella had done so much research to get certain specifics right was very refreshing, as many authors aren't that thorough. This book is definitely a step up from Under Their Guard, and I need Burn Their Legacy to come out sooner, because I need to read it now! 4.5 ⭐️

I received an ARC of this book. I am not being compensated in any way for posting this review. I really enjoyed this book. It was, however, extremely intense. It's a book where nothing happens but everything happens. There are two competing/parallel sources of tension (the sexual/romantic tension between Sabine and the bodyguards-- and to a lesser extent, the bodyguards with each other-- and the tension of waiting for the inevitable confrontations with the Scorpions) that slowly ratchet up over the course of the book, and when they break, it is fantastic. I really appreciated the further glimpse into characters' backstories. It reveals so much about their motivations and does a really nice job anchoring the story. There are so many really great details. Like the names of the cats (all famous journalists). Just delightful. I would also like to reassure that the mama cat and her kittens are all safe at the end of the book, and I imagine they will be at the end of the next book as well. Definitely worth a read, especially if you are a fan of Stella Rowe's writing. Fun, intense, steamy and sweet. Action was great, had me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend!
