Description

Leo is a brilliant, understated academic who prefers the silence of the library to the roar of a stadium. Archer is the star defenseman for the Desert Ice Hockey team, a man whose life is defined by aggression, bruised knuckles, and the high-stakes intensity of the rink. When a chance encounter brings them together, the chemistry is as immediate as it is inconvenient. Archer needs a tutor to keep his grades afloat, and Leo needs someone to show him that life exists outside the pages of his textbooks. As the desert heat gives way to the holiday season, their unlikely connection deepens into something neither man expected. Beneath the surface of their opposing worlds, they find a shared vulnerability that feels like coming home. But in a locker room culture that demands toughness and a world that expects them to stay in their lanes, choosing each other means risking everything they have built. This is a story about breaking down walls, finding comfort in the most unexpected places, and discovering that the best kind of teammate is the one who refuses to let go. Grab a blanket and settle in for this heartwarming, tension-filled journey of love, growth, and finding where you truly belong.

Great start to a new series!

I loved Stick By Me by Christie Gordon. It's the first book in the Desert Ice Hockey series. I loved Archer and Leo's story. I loved how they met and that they are both verse. It made for some hot scenes. I loved getting to see more of the members of the Knot Me band since Leo is Axel's brother. And I loved that Archer's team is made up of all LGBTQ members. I did also love the twist with Archer's dad and that Leo was there to support him. I look forward to reading the next book in the series that should be about Jonah. I read this book using the Kindle unlimited app.

I'm not sure I can finish this...**update**

Okay, I managed to finish reading the book, but with the beginning plot holes, I'm still taking a star off. And changing his eye color actually really bothered me. But the overall story was fantastic. I have to say, I really love the way this author writes, I love her writing style. And the open communication between both characters was just so amazing and it was really heartwarming. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue the series considering it's not finished and I really love to binge, especially when I really like the author. But I'm definitely adding it to my list to be continued. And maybe by then I'll forget about the eye color lmao ------------------- After reading her first two series, I'm on the first book of this series and I'm not even a few chapters in and I'm already irritated. There are so many plot holes, cuz in the last series Asher's eyes were blue, now suddenly they're brown. And how is he rolling off his socks and then undoing his skates and taking them off... Like how can the guy put a glass that's empty and indicated as such, into the sink and then three or four sentences later suddenly has a half full glass that he's drinking out of again, where did this glass magically appear from and what happened to the glass in the sink that was empty?? There are so many plot holes. It's actually maddening and I don't know if I can continue the book... I'm going to try, but I'm not making any promises. Cuz I really want Leo and Archer to have their happily…
