Description

Casey is the man everyone follows on social media for fitness inspiration and wholesome gym tips, but when the lights go out, his life takes a dangerous turn. By day, he is the ultimate nice guy influencer. By night, he is a calculated, morally grey vigilante patrolling the shadows of the city. He hides a secret that defies logic: he is a merman, and the water is the only place he truly belongs. When his worlds collide, Casey finds himself pulled into a high-stakes romance that challenges everything he knows about his dual existence. This story masterfully blurs the line between a sweet, golden retriever personality and the cold precision of a man who will do anything to protect the vulnerable. It is a stunning blend of dark suspense, modern fame, and mythological wonder. Whether you are drawn to the grit of a vigilante thriller or the magical allure of a hidden aquatic life, this narrative offers a fresh, sensual perspective on what it means to be seen. Part of the In The Spotlight series, this standalone novel delivers an unforgettable, heart-pounding experience that will leave you questioning how far you would go for the person who holds your heart.

Below The Surface 🔥🫣

Wow! Unbelievable. I have questions. How does a morally grey vigilante also have a golden retriever vibe? How does “a nice guy gym influencer” become wrapped up in said morally grey person? The cupcake? I melted at that point. This is the first book by Tamsyn Greer. I feel like if you have read any of the books under their other pen name, Morgan Lysand, you would have recognized their writing style. That being said, Tamsyn’s writing is different. It is darker with a slight detour towards viciousness. There were actually a couple of parts where I was totally caught off guard or had to close my eyes for minute. I watch shows like Criminal Minds and CSI, but I have to admit I got a little squeamish for a hot second. I would hands down recommend the book if you’re into darker themes and morally grey mc’s. If you’re like me and love anything with found family, this book will also make you happy. If you want romance and don’t care about anything else, look no further as Casey and Dallas have romance and steam. Overall, this book has a bit for everyone just read the warnings first.

Loved it

Below The Surface is part of the multi author In The Spotlight series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. Please read the trigger warnings before you start this book as it does have some dark themes. This is the story of Casey and Dallas. I loved this book so much. Casey and Dallas are perfect for each other. I loved the side characters and world building that went into this book. This book has some spicy moments, some action, and an interesting plot. I'm looking forward to reading Tamsyn Greer's next story. I would definitely recommend this book.
