The Carpenter’s Secret (Family Secrets Book 1)

The Carpenter's Secret is an amazing story of a city man (Dean), bored with his insurance job taking on a life he always wanted as a farmer, and the carpenter (Mikael) that he hired to do all of the work around his grandfather's farm that he inherited 6 years earlier and only now decided he needed a change. Dean got a lot more change than he anticipated the first day Mikael drove up to find out what work was needed. The attraction between the two men and the connection they were developing while being together and working together keeps building up more and more until they have to admit their feelings for each other. Mikael is from the wrong side of town and has a deep secret that Dean's grandfather knew about but never shared with him. His grandfather left him a necklace that would save him when he needed it. The reality of the history of the ancient American stories passed down from generation to generation are about to be revealed in a most surprising and threatening way. Will their friendship be effected by the secret, will both sides of the town accept them, will MiKael's family eventually accept an outsider into their family????? All answers you will have to find out while reading this wonderful story and the sequels which I am anxiously waiting for. Noah Harris weaves the American Native tales and the ever building relationship between these 2 different men in such a way that I found this a very captivating read and was really transported into his world and can't wait…

I liked The Carpenter's Secret by Noah Harris. It was well written, and I enjoyed Mikael and Dean. I always like Noah's books about a human and werewolf pairing and this one was great, but it moved a little slow for me. It was still plenty hot, and I liked the chemistry between Mikael and Dean. The book does end in a happy for now ending but this is just the first book in a new series called Family Secrets, and the author has promised that we won't have to wait long for the next book. I'm hoping that we get more of Mikael's background in the next book since we got a lot of Dean's in this one. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
