The Revenge Game: An MM Enemies to Lovers Romantic Comedy (The Revenge Club Book 1)

If you haven't read any books by Jax Calder, then your life is very dull and boring! His stories are just the best! The story of Andrew and Justin remind me of what I did in college. I hated a boy on campus; he was a snob and was part of all the top clicks. Just seeing him made me mad. Then he got hired at my jobsite and I had to train him. OMG was I wrong. He was the nicest fellow, smart & talented. We fell in love and spent many years together until he passed away with cancer. The story of Andrew & Justin is about how we change and how we see people at one age is not how they are when they get older. But then sometimes we don't know the whole story about someone else's life and what is going on with them. This is what happens with Andrew and Justin. It is a wonderful story of revenge and discovery and love!

Thank you for the book, here is my honest opinion: This is a truly beautifully written book, packed with both emotion and humor. This author excels at writing charming characters with loads of personality and that is certainly the case with Justin and Andrew. While the writing does have an appealing sense of humor, I don’t think I would consider this a lighthearted or low angst read. The author approaches the bullying topic with the weight it deserves and we see the continuing impact on both Andrew and Justin. While I definitely don’t excuse the bullying, I really didn’t love the prank either. Plus, Andrew allows the prank to go on for so long, which made him hard to like, personally. I definitely wasn’t rooting for him or his misguided plan. It’s wasn’t super satisfying as a romance for me but this is skillfully written, and really captures the lasting damage of childhood bullying and the power of forgiveness.

This one is absolutely adorable! Andrew is a multimillionaire who just sold his company. He’s staying in London trying to determine what’s next in life. Then, while at a bar, he sees his high school bully. Justin made his life hell for four years but doesn’t seem to recognize him now. Justin moved to London a few years ago for work, his life’s ok but he is still struggling with his biggest secret, he’s gay. When he was growing up his stepdad set expectations for what a real man looks like and his thoughts are still that inner voice inside Justin’s head. Andrew decides his next project is getting revenge on his bully. He buys his way into Justin’s apartment building and his way into Justin’s job. Taking on an alias. Justin begins to experience mishaps at work but hopefully the new IT guy Drew can help. But also Drew’s kind of cute. As the twos lives connect it becomes harder for Andrew to connect who Justin was with who he is. And it becomes harder for Justin to maintain his secret with sweet and witty Drew. Will Andrew’s revenge work, or are his feelings getting in the way? And what happens if Justin finds out who he really is? The story begs the question how far would you go for revenge if money was no object? Jax Calder’s The Revenge Game is charming, funny, both heartwarming and heartbreaking, and will have you in the feels!
